University Minors and Clusters

As part of the upper division general education requirement, students must either complete a 9-hour upper division cluster, a minor or a second major.Students in engineering are encouraged to consider a cluster in Global Engineering to better prepare for international engineering in the twenty-first century.Electrical and computer engineering students should also consider minors within the department. Computer engineering students should consider electrical engineering—to strengthen hardware skills, or a minor in computer science—to strengthen software skills. Electrical engineering students should consider minors in computer engineering—to strengthen high-demand computer skills. Our newly developed minor in Modeling and Simulation is another option for both electrical and computer engineers.A minor in engineering management is also available for students who would like to be better prepared for project management. The university also offers several other clusters and minors of interest to electrical and computer engineering students.
