National Engineers Week Open House Competition - Saturday, February 26, 2005.
Old Dominion University will celebrate National Engineers Week by holding its Annual Engineering Open House on February 25 and 26, 2005.
On Friday, February 25, our engineering and technology departments will provide displays of a wide variety of technologies intended for high school students. Come and experience guided tours through our teaching and research laboratories where we will conduct exercises and experiments. Local and regional industries will also participate at the open house to provide information to students.
This year we will have three starting times: 9:00am, 9:30am, and 10:00am. If you are bringing a group of more than 25 students, please pre-register your group. To do so, download the Open House Registration Form here. This will ensure that when you arrive we will have a sufficient number of tour guides available.
On Saturday, February 26, students may chose to participate in our Design Contests and Engineering Activities. They will be scheduled so that a student may choose to participate in both. Just indicate on the registration form which are preferred. These design contests will test student's inventiveness and skills. Monetary awards will be given to all winners. The engineering activities, organized by the College's Women in Engineering Initiative, do not require any preparation prior to the date, and have been designed to be fun as well as informative.
