The degree programs in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering are designed to produce graduates capable of addressing issues related to the design, operation, analysis, and transformation of complex systems. Particular emphasis is placed not only on the technical methods and tools necessary for success in technology-based enterprises, but also on the critical thinking skills essential to effectively communicate and manage completion of complex projects. The Department is home to National Center for Systems of Systems Engineering and to scholars distinguished by a wide range of academic, government, and industry experience. The faculty maintains close connections with the evolving states of engineering management and systems engineering fields by conducting research and developing new teaching materials. The Department is the recipient of American Society of Engineering Management's award for Excellence in Leadership in Graduate Programs.
