The purpose of my research is to investigate the design of system architectures (functional, physical, and operational) and understand how those designs are impacted by changing requirements.  My research addresses several questions: (1) What makes up the functional, physical, and operational architecture of a system?  When the requirements of a system change, how do changes to one part of the system architecture impact the other parts? (2) What is an architectural framework and how can they be best designed to handle changes in requirements? (3) What are the major industries using flexible architectures? (4) Where are the gaps in research in the area of flexible architecture?
