Ipek Bozkurt came to the Department in 2001 to get her Master's degree. She later stayed in hopes of pursuing a Ph.D., and she is currently a Ph.D. Candidate. She has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Ankara, Turkey. Her current research interests include personality profiles, philosophical paradigms, research methodologies, problem-solving, System of Systems Engineering and leadership.
She has been an instructor to courses such as Statistical Concepts (both live and televised) and Introduction to Engineering Management (CD-Rom). She has also been an RA for faculty members where she assisted in writing proposals for grants, as well as ongoing projects. She was also a TA for many classes, making life easier for professors. She is a member of IEEE and Academy of Management. She also has been a reviewer for journals such as Management Decision, and for conferences such as the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, and the American Society of Engineering Management conference. She is expecting to graduate next year, and she would like to continue her career in academia, though she is open to job opportunities within the industry as well. She is also an accomplished pianist (which has helped her keep sane in her PhD journey). To everyone's surprise (or horror), she is a great fan of old movies, musical theatre and Shakespeare. Oh and she likes daisies.
