Paul R. Garvey is Chief Scientist, and a Director, for the Center for Acquisition and Systems Analysis - a Division at The MITRE Corporation.  Mr. Garvey completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in pure and applied mathematics at Boston College and Northeastern University, respectively.

His is currently a doctoral student in engineering management in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. His dissertation research is focused on the design of computational frameworks that address the engineering management problem of how to represent, model, and measure risk in large-scale, complex, systems engineered to function in enterprise-wide environments.

He is also the author of two textbooks "Probability Methods for Cost Uncertainty Analysis: A Systems Engineering Perspective", published by Marcel Dekker, Inc., January 2000 and "Analytical Methods for Risk Management: A Systems Engineering Perspective", published by Chapman-Hall/CRC-Press, Taylor & Francis Group, 2008.
