Tariq H. Zain-El-Abdein is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Engineering Management in the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University. He received his B.Sc. (Honours) in Electrical Engineering (1993) from the Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture at the University Of Khartoum (U. of K.) in Khartoum, Sudan. He received his Masters in Engineering Management (M.E.M) with a GPA of 4.0/4.0, from the Department of Engineering Management & Systems Engineering, at Old Dominion University, in May 2006. He was with Lucent Technologies for over 5 years in the Radio Frequency (RF) department and now he is working for AT&T Wireless in planning, designing and managing the evolution of 3G wireless network.

His research interests include Operations Research, Simulation Modeling and Analysis, Engineering Management and Optimization Techniques. He is mainly focusing on the use of System Dynamics (SD) modeling and simulation to explore the market dynamics and understand the evolution of mobile phone market.
