Program Characteristics:

Plan of study

The plan of study at PHCC, articulation agreement between ODU and PHCC.

Program logistics

Students spend two years in Martinsville, VA attending courses at PHCC where they complete their AAS degree. While at PHCC students may take some of the leveling courses towards BS degree. Students can also take leveling courses at a local Private or State College or at ODU's main campus in Norfolk after completing their AAS degree at PHCC.

Upon completing AAS degree and leveling courses students transfer to ODU. However, in order to transfer to ODU BS program students must have at least 3.0 GPA in their AAS studies and leveling courses. Once accepted to ODU students can attend classes on the ODU's main campus in Norfolk, VA or they may attend courses through distance program delivery. All upper level courses are offered through distance mode allowing students to work and live in another location while completing their academic requirements towards their BS degree.

Students may also transfer into the program from other, non motorsports specific two-year programs. Additional coursework may be required. Students are encouraged to contact their local community college for information on articulation agreements, or ODU's Motorsports program director for specific course selection guidance.  For additional information, download brochure and the motorsports curriculum sheet.
