Dr. Bondi received her Bachelors in Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering from Old Dominion University of Norfolk, VA, her Masters and PhD in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. Dr. Bondi is currently serving as Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering Technology Department, Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology, Old Dominion University, Norfolk, VA.
Prior to joining ODU’s Engineering Technology Department, Dr. Bondi had four years of teaching experience as adjunct professor at Tidewater Community College, as an asynchronous course-pack developer for the distance learning Navy College Program, and as a researcher and teacher at ODU as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Engineering Management and Systems Engineering. During her graduate level studies, she had the opportunity to be involved in assessing uncertainty for Space Exploration Systems, particularly the Thermal Protection System for space vehicles on behalf of NASA Langley Research Center at Hampton, Virginia.
In addition, she has authored or co-authored submissions for seven journals and conferences, focusing on cost versus reliability issues, uncertainty assessment for mission critical systems, and using simulation to analyze stress elements in design. Dr. Bondi’s career includes over 22 years in various engineering consulting companies. Her progressive professional experience evolved from draftsperson for defense contractors, to senior computer aided design level, then design engineer and finally to project manager of multidiscipline projects in civil engineering, land developing and plan approving for various municipalities in the Tidewater area.
