Dr. Charles Keating is the Director for the National Centers for Systems of Systems Engineering (NCSOSE). Dr. Keating is a Professor for the Department of Engineering Management and Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University. Prior to joining the faculty of Old Dominion in 1994, Dr. Keating served in numerous staff and command positions for over 5 years in the US Army. In addition, he has served for over 7 years in quality engineering management at Texas Instruments and Newport News Shipbuilding, including high technology design, engineering, and testing oversight. He has conducted a multitude of research projects in various organizations, including NASA, Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, and the Riverside Health System. Dr. Keating is a member of the American Society for Engineering Management, The American Society for Cybernetics, the American Society for Engineering Education, the International Council on Systems Engineering, and the Project Management Institute.

Dr.Keating's research interests include systems engineering methodologies, project managementsystems, and international quality management systems design.

Dr. Keating received a B.S. inEngineering from West Point (1979), an M.A. in Management from Central Michigan University(1984), and a Ph.D. in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University (1993).
